Would you believe it if I say that Alexius is singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Stars??

Well, I was singing TTLS to him and he kind of started to sing as well. Even after I have finished the song,he is still singing. So I quickly took out my camera and recorded this!

10 fingers on my hand...

Gaby loves to sing. He could have gotten it from Mr Lee and myself as we both love to sing. And I think the music fun lessons that we attended together since he was 8th months old may have also cultivated his interest in singing. Not only he loves to sing, he will sometimes change the lyrics and make the song his own... there is 10 little indian boys that he changed the lyrics to 10 little bananas... wheels on the bus to wheels on the firetruck, wheels on dad dad's car... etc...

And yesterday, he sang 10 fingers on my hand... I mean I thought he was singing 10 fingers on my hand... he has actually changed 'fingers' to 'penis'!!! OMG!!! So I told him that no one has 10 penis on a hand and if he sings this in front of other people, they may find it silly and laugh... so better use other words like bananas, oranges, yakult...

Mum told me that Tuti told Daniel's mum that Alexius name is XL! No wonder Alexius cried when Daniel's mummy tried to tease him... she has been calling the wrong name mah... For short, Alexius is Alex. So Tuti must have heard wrongly.

Mummy has all the right answer is it?

Gaby has been asking me all kinds of questions lately. Some of them I really dun know how to answer... some ok la, will answer but will regret that I provided the answer.

He has asked me about the moon again last nite when we were in the car. Haiz... headache!!!

And he asked me this some days ago and i regretted my answer...
Gaby : "Mummy, why your breasts so big har?"
Mummy : "Becos there's milk in them."
Gaby : "Orh..."
And I regretted my answer after half an hour... too late to re-answer cos he's already in school and I'm at work. Regretted the answer becos what if he relates big breasts to having breast milk all the time? Not all 'big' women are breast feeding mah. Urgh! Got to be careful with my answer next time...

So again he asked me the same question yesterday...
Gaby : "Mummy, why your breasts so big har?"
Mummy : "Becos mummy is a bit fat..."
Gaby : "Orh..."
Aiya, haven't really thought about the 'perfect' answer to this one and he asked again! And again I regretted using 'fat' as an answer. Not all big breasts women fat mah!

Headache... what should be the best answer leh??

Birth Mark

Alexius has this "birth mark" near his ankle... it looks quite big. Has been told that it will go away when his older...

One of the things Gaby wants to do when he grows up

Gaby has been telling me that he wants to be a fireman when he grows up... doesn't want to become a policeman or soldier. So when he is a fireman, he wants to fly either a white, blue, red or orange helicopter. But not a yellow one...

Gaby : "Mummy, I like to look at the moon and the stars."
Mummy : "so when u grow up u can take a rocket to the moon..."
Gaby : "But I want u to take the rocket with me."
Mummy : "ok..."

Mummy really lost of words!!! "It's in the sky with the stars lor..." was hoping that by this time he'll stop asking cos i really dun know how to answer... was so sleepy already...
Gaby : "Mummy, but why the moon is in the sky?"
I really dun want to give him any wrong answer...
Mummy : "I dun really know. Why dun u ask your teacher tomorrow when u see her in school."
Gaby : "ok... good nite mummy. I love u." kiss, kiss...
Mummy... phew!

Gaby is in this "why why stage" and at times i really dun know how to answer his questions. Don't want to give him the wrong info.

The silliest thing that dad dad did...

What was the silliest thing that dad dad Lee has ever done?

1) Not reading the instructions on the formula milk tin.
Mr Lee don't have the habit of reading instructions or manual before using anything... eg, electric appliances, food, gadgets and formula milk. So he used to over fed Gaby when Gaby was still a baby. When we switched formula milk, it didn't occur to him that the size of the scoop in the milk tin is different and thus the amount of milk powder should be given in different measures. It was until during one of the feed that he prepared for me to feed Gaby that I realised that the milk seems to be very thick... like tau huay. At first I thought the texture is different becos we switched milk powder. But it wasn't the same when I prepare the milk myself leh... so one day, I asked him how many scoops he put into the feed and to my surprise, the measure was doubled! Nan Ha's scoop is the small one and Similac one is doubled the size of Nan. For Nan, for 90ml of water is 3 scoops and for Similac, is 1.5 scoops. But Mr Lee, didn't read the instructions and didn't seem to realise the difference in scoops size, used 3 scoops when preparing Similac milk! No wonder the milk looked tau huay la!

2) Forgot to wear diaper for the baby.
This morning I asked Reda to change Alexius diaper when I was pumping my breastmilk... cos i tot i heard some 'poop...poop... poop'. And to our surprise, Alexius wasn't wearing any diaper. He was soaked in pee pee and poo poo! So I back tracked and realised that Mr Lee was the last person to change Alexius last nite after Alexius poo poo. Last nite, Alexius stained his pj during poo poo so I asked Mr Lee to change the diaper and pj. And he has FORGOTTEN about the diaper!!!

Super King Sized Bed

I think we really need a super king sized bed! Gaby woke up at about 1am+ and came into our room looking for me. So Mr Lee told him that mummy is asleep. Instead of going back to his bed, he went to collect his pillow and bolster from his bed and crawled into my king sized bed.

When I woke up in the morning, I realised that our bed is indeed too small... we have 2 adults, 2 dogs (one wearing a big cone-lamp-shaded collar) and a boy in the same bed.

I have decided to let Gaby perform at the school's year end concert. Can't imagine how will it turn out...

Gaby really likes to sing and dance... actually more like jump, a lot at home. And the funny thing is that he got a "B" for singing on his mid-year report book??? Was a bit disappointed to see that he has lots of "B" on his report book. Mr Lee said that it's not that he didn't know how but more like he was fooling around in class sometimes... Oh dear ! I am begining to sound like a pa su mother!!! Was expecting to see more "A"s. But anyway, after thinking it over the week end, I tod myself that it's good to have "B"s now so that by year end maybe he get "A"s. If all "A"s now then what kind of scores can he get later??

Old memories

I was looking at some of the old photos and video clips taken from my old old mobile phone of Gaby. And to my surprise, I dun remember having taken all the photos and clips!!!??? Actually, while I was looking at them, I feel very distanced and strange. I don't understand why am I feeling this way?? I do remember that back then when Gaby was still a baby, I like to snap pictures and video clips of him all the time. And that's all I remembered. I dun remember anything else of him when he was little... Oh, I do remember those 'frightening things' that I did to him...Is this becos back then I wasn't happy at all? I was so miserable becos of what happened at D#$g&* that my mind has choosen to block out things that happened back then? Including my happy memories of Gaby when he was a baby? Could this be it? Or is it that I am really getting old and so I can't remember them?

All of a sudden, I have this sense of fear... why do I only remember the bad things that I did with Gaby and not those happy ones??? Are there happy memories??

Gaby has been quite confused with the term Mr and Mrs. He has been refering to the couple that couches the gym classes on Tuesday as the 'boy' Mr Gan and 'girl' Mr Gan. When in fact, they are Mr and Mrs Gan. So everytime I have to tell him that the boy is Mr Gan and the girl is Mrs Gan. But everytime, he'll get it mixed up and refer to Mr Gan as Mrs Gan and Mrs Gan as Mr Gan...

So on Tuesday, I tried to teach him Mr and Mrs by using Mr Lee and myself as example. So I told him that dad dad is Mr Lee and mummy is Mrs Lee. Mr for boy and Mrs for girl. But he shot back at me by saying Mummy is not Mrs Lee. Mummy is mummy Lee. Not the same. Haizzzz...

Old Lady's Flat Tummy

Saw the old nak nak this morning at the playground. And she passed a commend that why my tummy is still so big 4+ months after delivery. She asked if I have done any tummy massages and I told her I didn't becos'I had Alexius via c-section and my wound was painful for quite some time. Then she went on to tell me that I have to watch what I eat for every meal so that the tummy can go down. Then she pressed her blouse down at her tummy area and told me that she has given birth to 10 kids and her tummy is still so flat!

Urgh!!!

Breast milk doesn't come cheap these days!

I read on some internet forum that someone actually asked the hospital's baby nursery ward for empty glass milk bottles. So I called up Mt E and spoke to the maternity ward nurse. Informed her that I gave birth to my baby 4 months ago there and now I would like to ask if it's possible that I request for glass bottles from the nursery ward. She said yes, they have given glass bottles before and so she forwarded the call to the nurse at nursery ward. I was so full of hope! Haizzz... but when i made my request to the nusery ward, she told me that they have so much requests from existing patients and ex-patients that they don't have enough to give away. Guess now I really have to buy few more bottles :(

It is really expensive to store the milk in plastic milk storage bags. One piece of plastic bag costs $1.23! I need to use about 5 every day... at least 2 when I'm in the office and a couple more if i dun have enough milk bottles. If only Alexius wants to latch on then I'll save a lot of $$$.

Gaby misses mummy

Yesterday I got to work in the afternoon cos got to attend a tele-conference with boss in the late afternoon. So I missed dinner with the family.

When I was in the MRT, I received a call from Mr Lee. He informed that Gaby wants me to bathe him. So I told Mr Lee not to tell Gaby that I am on the way home cos he may want to wait for me to reached home then have his dinner.

When I reached home, the first thing that Gaby told me was "妈妈，我miss你叻！" I felt so bad not being home for dinner with him :(

Lost and Found

Patricia told me this morning that there seems to be a spreading disease of losing thing in the office. First it was boss C, he lost his house key and thumb drive while in Malaysia. Then this morning, boss T told her that he lost his swimming trunk in Manila and asked her to track it down for him. Then boss B rang in and informed her that he lost his mobile phone in the taxi this morning.

So I said that she should have told the bosses "Do I look like the "Lost and Found Counter" ?"

No pushing, one by one, step by step

Don't have to work on Friday so went to pick Gaby from school. Aiyo, he was sweaty and look at his uniform, so untidy! I guess he must have gone to the toilet during school hours and as usual, he just pulled up his shorts.

My Monday Blues Starts on Sunday!

I was wondering why I felt so 'blue' yesterday (Sunday)... So much so that I told Gaby that I'm not happy and need a hug from him. So he gave me a big bear hug and lots of kisses and told me that he loves me... and after that, he asked me 'Mummy, you happy now?' how can i say no.

Could it be because I couldn't find a carpark lot at the multi-storey carpark when i went training?

Could it be that I forgot to lock the car door... only to realise it when i reached the ground floor of the no-lift-multi-storey carpark?

Could it be that Junior poo poo at the multi-storey carpark... and i had so much to carry with me that it was such a hassle picking up the poo and cleaning his bum?

Could it be that the weather was so hot?

Could it be that I didn't get any Mother's Day presents?

Hmm... ...And now it's Monday and I'm still feeling a little blue...

The Botak Gang

Gaby had some 'misunderstanding' with his cousins the other night during dinner time. He was very sad after that.

I was telling Boon last nite that maybe Gaby can become an actor when he grows up... I used to think maybe he can be a singer next time cos he really likes to sing. Hehe! But now I think he can maybe be an actor cos he can really control his tears! Sometimes he can just tell me that "Mummy, I'm so sad" and he just blinks his eyes a bit and the tears can just come out! Not that he is really sad, he can be telling me this when I am showering him... like out of the blue thing!

Guess I am just having 星妈梦 !

Finger licking good!

Alexius really like to put his thumb and sometimes, pointer finger into his mouth. i know it's really unhygenic but what to do, I have tried letting him use the dummy and also teething toy but he just didn't like them. Mum thinks that he may be feeling 'itchy gums' cos he may be teething. He is turning 5 months old in a few weeks time. Can't remember when Gaby started to have his first tooth. I think he had 2 teeth instead of one.

No 2 way about it...

Gaby has topped the bathroom scale at 13.5kg today! But this also mean that I have to train my arm muscles more so that I can carry him. When he was sick and losing weight, all i wished is that he'll put on weight quickly. Now that he has put on weight, I am feeling the strain carrying him! But thankfully, these days he hasn't asked to be carried all the time. He'll want to 'hold hands'... only once in a while he'll want to be carried. So I guess it is some improvement...

4th Month Jab

Alexius got his 4th month jabs yesterday. I guess must have been painful jabs cos he cried so hard with real tears!

It was only Mr Lee and Junior initially... but Poofie joined in the 'fun'.

Left or Right?

We have been wondering whether Gaby will be a left or right hander for sometime. And we are still wondering... Sometimes he'll be using his right hand and sometimes his left for drawing or eating. He seems to be able to control both hands quite well.

I am actually fine with him using either hands. But mum and dad will remind him to use right hand if he is using his left. Even the teachers in school has advised that we not force him... let him develop naturally on his own. I've read somewhere before that we shouldn't force our kids on which hand he prefers to use.

Boss kana locked-out

My colleague informed me that boss lost his house keys during his business trip in M'sia. So today better stay off his turf... bad mood!

These days we have been letting Alexius sleep in the sarong swing becasue it's cooler sleeping in it then to sleep in his cot. An he seems to be able to sleep longer in it then in his cot. I think he is really like me, cannot tahan the heat!

I attended Charlie's memorial service on Friday with Wendy, Bang Lit and Daniel. And when I reached home, Gaby asked me where have I been. So I told him that I went to visit Uncle Charlie. And when I look at the sky today, I thought it is very nice. So took some pics. Have always told Gaby that Uncle Charlie and Isaac is staying in the sky...
