Last Day of Maternity Leave

Today is the last day of my maternity leave... thinking of going back to work is a bit sian...

Time really flies! I don't thing fly is the word... more like a wink. Really felt like it was just yesterday that i had given birth to Alexius.

I am not too worried about Gaby or Alex not getting used to me going back to work since I'm only work half a day... I'm more worried about Mr Poofie. Very worried that he may suffer from separation anxiety... he is such a sensitive dog!

i think i am really getting old n forgetful!

wendy asked me about my birthday just now n i couldn't really remember what happened that day!!! got to refer to my own blog to recall!!!

goodness me! what happened to all the DHA that have taken??? gone to alexius?

Going back to work...

Have been practicing with Gaby on the routine of me going back to work...

Every morning, I will pretend that I'm going to office. So will leave the house with him. Will tell him that I'll be going to the office after sending him to school. Then in the afternoon when he's back home, I'll go into hiding and only appear after he has taken his shower.

But today, we 'promoted' the procedure to me only appearing after he has had his lunch. So this morning I kept telling him that when he's back from school, kar kar will shower for him and then feed him lunch and then dad dad will call mummy and then mummy will be home.

So far so good. I was hiding at the staircase at the lift lobby and I could hear him say 'HELLO' when he was at the door. Can also hear him say "Gong Gong eat, Dad Dad eat, Ah Mah eat, Kar Kar eat, Di Di eat, Poofie eat, Junior eat". And when I come into the house, he has finished lunch. According to Mr Lee, Gaby has had extra serving of fried rice today.

So I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed that it'll be this smooth sailing next week when I start work.

Anniversaries

Oops! I forgot to write down about our ROM anniversary lunch...

Like most Singaporeans, we have 2 wedding anniversaries to celebrate. 5 January being the Chinese customary one and 18 March being the ROM one. We didn't do much on 5 January this year since I'm still in confinement. But we went for lunch on 18th March to celebrate our 13th ROM Anniversary.

Lunch at Sun with Moon Jap Resturant... no presents... but a lovely afternoon spend alone with Mr Lee. One thing Mr Lee can improve on is not to use his mobile phone too much during out private moments together...

Practice... practice

We have been trying very hard to get Gaby to sit on his potty to do his no2. All this while he didn't want to sit on it. But tonite he has been a good boy. Agreed to sit on the potty to practice a bit bit.

Birthday Kiss

Happy Birthday To Me

I have to write something today becos today is the first day of my 37th year. Yes, that's right, today is my birthday!

Mr Lee has to work today so can't spend the whole day with me. But he compensated with a chocolate banana cake... a very delicious one!

Today would be a perfect day if not for the headache....

Nua Habit...

This morning was a bit of a struggle with Gaby. He didn't feel like going to school. Was a bit weepy... kept saying that he wants to go back to bed and sleep. But i did manage to get him to put on his uniform, socks and shoes in the end... Then he didn't want to sit in the childseat... haiz... And when we were on the way, he kept repeating that he wants to sleep. Even when we were already in class! Teacher Julia thought that he has played too hard during the school hols.But we explained that he did have lots of rest yesterday. Although he didn't take his usual nap... cos he's too busy playing with his cousins... he hit bed at 7pm till this morning 7am. A straight 12 hours sleep.

I do realised that it has somehow become a habit of him to give the excuse of wanting to go to bed and sleep whenever he is unhappy or that he is being asked to do something that he finds it to be a chore... like having his meals, keeping his toys, going to school, taking a shower... Inez thought that his habit sounded very 'familiar'. She thought he must have 'inherited the nua habit' from me! Actually, while i was telling her about it, i feel as if i'm talking about myself! Oh dear!!!

Boring Friday...

It was a bit of a boring Friday morning today... Gaby was a little gruchy and restless at home. So we decided to go to Mt Faber to look at cable cars. One of the favourite activities of Gaby.

He was feeling a little ok when we were there at the cable car station... after a while of looking at the cable cars, he told dad dad that he wants to take a ride on them. So since he hasn't taken a ride on it and didn't show any sign of fear... as he once said that he didn't want to ride on cable car as it seems dangerous...we decided to go ahead and to a 'round trip'.

The fare costed about S$14 per adult, no charges for Gaby. It was quite a fun ride... i think Gaby enjoyed himself a lot... But as for dad dad, the moment we paid for the fare and were walking towards the boarding area, he told me that he is actually afraid of height and that it's his first time on the cable car. But we spoke in Teochew so tat Gaby will not understand the little fear dad dad is experiencing.

At the end of the ride, Gaby said that he would like to come back again for another ride and this time, he would like to have his gong gong, ah mah, wey herng, ting zher, yang yu, herng yu, dad dad, mummy and not forgeting his good friend johnathan along!

Here's the photo that we submit for Gaby's school project... It was taken quite last minute.

Actually, I think we are not 'good parents'. Teacher Julia has left a note in Gaby's bag to remind the parents to let the kids bring their family photo... but we did not check his bag constantly so we didn't know. By the time we realised the note, it was about 1 week later. Then Gaby fell sick and did not attend school for 1 week. I hope Teacher Julia won't have the impression that he skipped school becos we didn't have a proper family photo.

The morning when i handed to her the photo, she commented "Wow! So big ah?!"
