More! More! and More!

On top of all the supplements that I am currently taking. I just bought another new one during lunchtime today. It's Stinging Nettle, and the purpose of this is to increase milk production in nursing mother... yes, i am trying to increase my milk production cos i noticed that there is a drop in the daily quantity recently. I used to be able to produce about 700ml - 600ml per day but recently, i realised that i only produce about 500ml. Not sure if it's becos i haven't been feeling well recently that causes the drop. But in any case, these supplements that I have been taking doesn't cause any harmful side effects.

Special place

Went to Central Fire Station with Gaby again yesterday afternoon. It was quite a last minute thingy. I took another day's off from work yesterday becos I was still feeling rather tired from taking care of Alexius and Gaby and having fever myself. Boon was tied up in office meeting so I went to pick Gaby from school. He was so delighted to see me! When he was having lunch, I told him to quickly finish eating and nap so that when he wakes up, we can do something together. Initially I wanted to bring him to the barber but he doesn't want to go to any one except Aunty Florence's. But I really want to get out of the house so I thought perhaps we could just visit the museum at Central Fire Station for an hour and then back home. Gaby was quite excited at the suggestion so he quickly finished his lunch and then nap after a bottle of milk. We reached the Station at around 4pm. Spent about 45 minutes there. I think he still finds the place very interesting... pretending to be a fireman himself, going up that old fire engine on display many times. On our way home, we met Cons at the MRT station. She was on her way home with Isaac. It was a lovely suprise to meet her n bb Isaac. Isaac was soooooo cute. Makes me miss my kids when they were at that age. Anyway, I was just thinking about it on my way home with Gaby that perhaps, I should really arrange a day in a week to spend time with him. Told a friend about my outing yesterday and she commented that it's quite romantic, spending time with my son at our special hunt. I didn't think about it as romantic initially... but after she mentioned it, i do feel that indeed, it seems like a special place for us to visit together. The last time round when we were there with Mr Lee, he was so bored. Wasn't keen on taking pictures and was busy on his phone. Last night during bedtime, Gaby told me that he had lots of fun! Gaby, mummy had fun going out with you too!

Hot Mummy

Yes, I am one hot mummy now. Fever!!

Alamak! Sick again ar?

Is it the weather or what har? Haiz... Junior was having slight fever on Saturday... a day before competition and seems ok by Sunday... so i thought the ordeal is over. Sunday was so tiring when I reached home around 9pm. Big toe on my left foot hurts like nobody business but only get to bed around midnite.

Yesterday was very sleepy at work. But tried to stay awake till lunch cos meeting Fong at Bugis for lunch. Haven't seen her for months so lots to catch up with each other. Envy her life now cos she's a stay-home-mum.

Alexius was a little grouchy when he woke up from nap. And he doesn't seem keen on his porridge at all. So I thought that it could be due to his coughing and running nose. Yes, cough and running nose again. Mr Lee blames it on the weather. Luckily we still have some medicine on stand-by from the previous visit to Dr P.

I was super duper tired yesterday. Couldn't wait for bedtime so set my alarm to go off at 11pm for me to wake up to pump milk and feed Alexius. But just half hour into my sleep, Alexius woke up crying. Managed to pacify him and gave him some milk. But he also vomitted a little when he coughed halfway during his milk. Haizz... managed to put him back to sleep so that i could do my last pump of the day and hit dreamland again. BUT... after I put the expressed milk into the fridge, Alexius woke up crying again! headache man! switched on the music cd for him and calmed him down finally around 12.30am. From 12.30 to 3+am - he was asleep at first (I too fell asleep when he was quiet)... then don't know from what time onwards, he woke up and was chatting away in his cot. Since he wasn't crying, I just left him there to entertain himself hoping that he'll fall back into sleep soon. At about 3.30am, he suddenly started crying very hard. So I picked him up and could feel that his body was very HOT! Alamak! the thing I fear most. Fever at 40 degrees! Woke Mr Lee up to get the medicine for high fever. While Mr Lee was getting the medicine, I smell poo poo. Oh gosh! 1 big shit load of poo poo! I guessed that was why he was so cranky the whole nite. Tummy ache la!

I don't really know how many hours I slept last nite. But this is not important. All I wish for is for Alexius to get well soon and not to affect Gaby.

Fried rice for me

I have been toying with the idea of letting both Gaby and Alex attend childcare in July when Reda finishes her contract with us. This is just one of the option... perhaps we will get another maid... and perhaps not... So on Saturday, I took the opportunity of me being home during lunch time, to let Gaby eat his lunch without Reda or me feeding him. To make mealtime easy for him, I thought having fried rice will be good... all the ingredients mixed together liao.

Gaby went out with gong gong and ah mah in the morning. But I told them about the 'training Gaby' so they have him home by around 12.30pm. I did face some problem in the begining cos Gaby wants to play with his toys and eat lunch at the same time. But after some 'talking sense' into him by me, I managed to get him to sit at the dining table and eat his fried rice. He took about half an hour to finish the plate of not-so-much fried rice. But I am very proud that he did it.

After that, during dinner time and on both mealtimes on Sunday, Gaby wanted to eat by himself! I hope this is not the "3 minute hot" phase... hope today he won't want Reda to feed him. I have asked Reda to fried rice again...

I still love you deep deep

My dear Junior baby... No matter what happened, I still love you deep deep... even if you did so badly at yesterday's trial!

And these...

Last Friday at Kindermusik, the trainer, myself and another mummy heard him say "drink" when he pointed to the water jar...

When he has his hands on the toy car or toy plane, he'll make the sound of engine... something like "ur-n.... urn...."

Likes to stretch out his arms to the dogs so that they can lick his hands.

Cannot sit still... whatever big brother is playing, he'll want to take it.

Clap his hands when he sees anyone clapping their hands or saying hooray.

Yes, I am talking about Alexius... just want to note these down so that I won't forget them when I grow old and become forgetful...

What do you know?

Just want to note these down...

Alexius knows how to do Gong Xi Gong Xi, tututu (rub ru yi you on tummy), 屁股下先 when he wants to get down from my bed or sofa, wave bye bye, sign thank you, say dad dad/daddy, 妈妈, sign milk milk, simple funny dance movements... I think that should be all.

Different Looks

Mr Lee... those were the gone days!

Who wants milk??

Was reading a friend's blog about her views on breast feeding. And this statement that she got from an article really affects me a lot...

“When you are fully weaned from the pump and finish pumping for good, give yourself a big pat on the back. Always remember how lucky your baby is that you were willing to work so hard to give him the best!”

I really can't imagine what will become of me when I am weaned from my pump. Already I was so upset when Alexius rejected my breast when I started going back to work. I tried all kinds of ways to make him latch on... bought all kinds of nipple shields. All failed to work. So no choice, give him my milk from the bottle. And to make sure that I have enough milk flow, I tried to pump like every 2hourly in the begining and drink almost 8 cups of milo in a day! And on top of this, I popped lots of supplements and 2 bowls of soup during dinner daily. Done all this just to keep up with the milk flow.

So you see, I did so much to continue giving my milk to my boy... I mean boys cos there are so much frozen milk in my freezer that I give Gaby, Junior and Poofie my milk too... until I realised that Junior and Poofie may be allergic to them cos I have chicken and fish in my diet. Anyway, so much effort has been put in the have a continuous milk flow that the thought of not able to pump out a drop of milk freak me out! I don't really know when I will stop... at least not for the next 3, 4, 5, 6 months!

Oh, forgot to mention that when my first Pigeon pump RIP, I was so panicky, thinking that was it a sign that I have to stop? Thank goodness Mr Lee bought a new one back within the same day and saved me!

Growing up...

Gaby has now understand the meaning of pretending. He'll tel me that he is pretending to be busy fighting fire, pretending to eat biscuits, pretending to telephone his friend ZQ...

And talk about ZQ. 2 nights ago, Gaby asked me why ZQ hasn't been going to school for so long. He misses her and she is his best girlfriend. So I told him that ZQ is staying too far away from school so her mummy has gotten her into a school nearer to her home. And that not to worry so much cos he will get to meet her in future when he grows up. Maybe they will attend school again when he is older. I think he has come to terms that ZQ will not be coming back. He told me yesterday after pretending to telephone ZQ that ZQ is sick and will not return to school.

As I was looking at my boys last nite, I suddenly feel that they seem to have grown up a lot these 2 weeks. Both look taller now. Especially Alexius, his legs seem to have grown longer since he started walking. And some of Gaby's clothes are smaller now. And he is wearing the new school shoes that I bought, to school today.

Wink, wink... over liao

So fast hor? End of CNY already. :(

Teething again?

I am just wondering if Alexius is teething again. Well, so far he has 4 front teeth on both upper and lower jaw, total 8. I had a closer look at them yesterday and realised that the upper 4s seem to be only half out. Or perhaps they are just small?? Anyway, I am suspecting that he may have some more coming out soon. He has been biting the spoon when I fed him these few days. And doesn't really seem too keen on feeding. Dr advised that sometimes when the baby is teething, the gums may feel uncomfortable and the baby may reject feeding. Could this be the reason why Alexius doesn't seem keen on his porridge recently?

I remember that when Gaby was around 13th month, he had 4 big teeth coming out at the same time. It was so difficult... not that he suffers fever or lau sai, but was cranky all the time. Maybe from sore gums.

But I have to be thankful that both Gaby and Alexius didn't drool too much during teething time. Am hoping that Alexius will be fine soon.

小牛Shayan

Jen had her little Shayan delivered on the 3rd day of CNY. He weighs about 3.96 kg. The biggest baby that I have come acrossed so far! Went to visit her along with Alexandra. Big babies are so much easier to handle. And according to Jen this morning, she said that he also has a huge appetite!

春天花开福贵来

Always love blooming flowers but can't have them at home cos my dear Junior is allergic to the pollen.

Hoping for 贵人保佑

Today is 开工大吉 day so went to the temple to pray pray during lunch time with Pat and Cary. And I've gotten the twirl joss and had Mr Lee's details written on the red paper to be hung at the temple. This is supposed to bring good luck and peaceful year for him and his whole family... which includes me la!

I don't hope for much. Just peacefulness at home and at work. Smooth sailing year can liao. 小人go far far away!

Happy CNY at school

Oops! That's Angel bending over. Went to pick Gaby from school on Friday. He was so surprised to see me! I let him play a little while at the school's playground before going home by bus. Yes, the weather was too hot to walk home lor...
