Last Saturday morning I tried giving Alexius some cereal... actually not expecting him to finish the bowl of cereal becos when he came back from his morning walk with Mr Lee, he was a little edgy. So just gave him 2-3 tiny spoons so that he get used to the feeling of eating from the spoon. And oso, the cereal was a little to watery as I have used breastmilk instead of the formula milk.
Then wanted to start giving him cereal yesterday but by the time I finished all my chores, it was too late and I have to go to work. Actually wanted to try giving him cereal yesterday afternoon when i came back from work but later changed my mind. Someone has advised that I should only introduced new food to the baby in the morning so that if any allergy reaction occurs within the next 3 hours, it will be easier to get doctor's attention. So since I was up early today and finished my chores earlier, I tried giving Alexius cereal again. This time, I mixed the rice cereal with formula milk for a slightly thinker texture. And my little piggy finished all that stuff up without throwing up or messing up his bib! I think I'll try to give him slightly more cereal tomorrow morning...

New Toys
Alexandra has given me some toys that her son used to play. There are a few boxes of them so I only give Gaby bit by bit over the last few days. They toys came at the right time cos Gaby has started to get really boh liao during the day.
The toys are so fun that even Mr Lee would skipped dinner to play them with Gaby. Especially the toy set. I have to nag at Mr Lee for almost one hour to finish his dinner then set up the train set for Gaby.

Nak Nak
Alexius really look like the nak nak from the next block...
Got to wear this cap, pull all the way down to cover his left ear becos he has this habit of using his thumb to rub the ear... rubbed until bleed liao.
Chitty Chitty Baby
We can finally see Alexius 2 bottom front teeth's tip! Thought the top one will come first cos I can see a white spot on the top gum...
Anyway, will start to give him some cereal next week. He has been a bit feverish since after Monday's jab. Maybe by next week more of the bottom front teeth will 'grow' up...

Gaby Kana Bullied
The bruise is near the side of Gaby's left eye. This morning I notice a bit of puffyness on his left eyelid... Ouch!
Yesterday afternoon Gaby was downstairs playing with Jonathan at the playground and kana bullied. Jon had a watch in his hand and he used this hand to punch Gaby. I think the watch must have rubbed Gaby's face cos there was a bruise after the incident. I was in the kitchen preparing the breastmilk pump when I heard a loud cry from the playground. The cry sounded like Gaby's. So I tried to look down at the playground but couldn't see anything.
When they came home, Gaby was still crying. I think the punch was quite hard and must be quite painful. Mum told me that when Gaby cry, Alex also started to cry. Maybe it's really 兄弟情深，血脉相连.
At bedtime, Gaby said that next time he'll punch Jon in return. So I tried explaining to him that he shouldn't return a punch cos this will start a fight and fighting is not good. I told him that he did the right thing by going to inform gong gong about the fight instead of fighting with Jon. Good boys don't fight. But when I was lying down on my bed last nite and thinking about this conversation, I kept wondering if I should also teach Gaby to defend himself in situation like this? But will it backfire and instead of teaching the kid to defend, I will end up teaching him to fight... headache...

So brave!!!
I have made an appointment 2 weeks ago for both Gaby and Alexius for injections today. But of cos i didnt tell Gaby that the purpose for the trip is for him to get a Hep A jab la... dun want to build up the fear in him... so i told him last nite that we have to bring didi for dr's check up and he can come along if he wants. I know he'll sure want to tack along as he like Dr Phuah a lot...
When we were at the clinic just now, I told the ladies at the counter not to mention that Gaby is getting a jab as well. Was worried that if he finds out then he may not want to enter the dr's room.
When we were in the room, I told dr that Gaby will go first as I dun want him to be affected by didi's crying when didi gets the jab. So dr was also very understanding. He pretends to do some body checks on Gaby first and talked to him to break the ice... then when he was preparing the jab, he kind of explains what he is doing to Gaby. I let Gaby sit on my lap with his pants half way down so that the injection can go onto his thigh. Dr kept telling Gaby that it will feel like a naughty mosquito bite... when he pokes the needle onto Gaby's thigh, I kind of use my hand to block his view of what dr is doing. I dun think the jab is that painful cos Gaby just said 'ouch' and then everything is over. And Gaby is back to playing with the dr's toys. Then it was Alexius' turn. As usual, he cried so loud. haiz...
Anyway, after we came out from the dr's room, we kept praising Gaby that he is a brave boy for not crying. But told him that didi cried becos he is still a baby. But Gaby is a big brave boy. Then he kept asking me why he needed the jab. So I told him that the jab is to make him a stronger boy. But i think the jab area does feel a little sore cos he kept touching his thigh area. But he din want us to think that he is weak so he din say anything.
Long before today, I have told everyone at home not to frighten Gaby about dr's visit and injection. Don't want him to associate going to the dr's with painful injections... Guess this helps!
